Chicago Czechs, who have contributed so many volunteers for the United States Army and Navy, are not lagging in the number of its women who are offering their time and energies to the Czech branch of the Red Cross. The young girls and married women, members of Sokol gymnastic societies, had several meetings in the halls of Sokol Havlicek Tyrs, Pilsen Sokol, and Sokol Karel Jonas in Cicero, the results of which are highly gratifying, in that they assure our representation of proportionate numbers.

The Jednota Ceskych Dam (Czech Laides' Unit) are joining the movement for the enlistment of the largest possible contingent of Czechs in the American Red Cross...
