Den Danske Skytteforening (Danish Sharpshooters) was started March 21, 1891. It has sixty-six members and one honorary member, "Battling" Nelson. It meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at Northwest Hall. The secretary is Mr. P. H. Mommsen, 2725 North Avers Avenue. The society pays seventy-five cents per day in case of sickness and fifty dollars in case of death.

The society has two shooting competitions during the year.
