One Thousand Members Wanted
Lietuva, Oct. 3, 1913
Last Sunday, delegates of the local branches of the district of Chicago, of the Lithuanian Alliance of America, held their meeting in Aurora hall, Bridgepert. The delegates decided that the Chicago district of the Lithuanian Alliance of America, must secure one thousand new members before the coming convention to be held in Waterbury, Connecticut, next year. For this purpose, the Chicago district is calling a convention this year in Chicago, on October 26. The branches of the Lithuanian Alliance of America in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Michigan must send their delegates to this convention in Chicago.
The district delegates brought forth a resolution protesting against the newspapers Laisve and Kova for their denunciation of the honorable delegates from Lithuania, Dr. J. Basanavicius and K. Yeas.
