[A Club for Janitors]

Record Books of the Garfield Park Benefit Club of Lithuanian Men and Women, 1936-1941

In the month of December, 1916, a meeting was held by N. Vilimaitis, J. Palinlionis, T. Lapenas, A. Janulevicius, K. Katelis, J. Zubivicinits and others. They organized the Lithuanian Janitors' Benefit Club. In order to get more members to join this organization, in 1926 the club changed its name to the present Garfield Park Benefit Club of Lithuanian Men and Women.

This club takes part in every progressive movement.

The monthly dues for every club member are fifty cents. The sick benefit is $150 from the club's treasury. There are one hundred and forty-four members. The assets are $3,800.
