The Norwegian National League held its regular meeting Monday evening in Kedzie Hall with Mr. Kramer the president in the chair. Sixty delegates were present.
The president reported from the 17th of May committee, everything is ready and a great turn-out is expected.
Mr. Kramer had contacted Chief of Police Healey in order to obtain a few policemen to keep order in Brands Park. Mr. Healey replied that he had never been aware of any trouble or disorder on this occasion, the Norwegians were such nice orderly people that he did not deem it necessary to have a police-force in the park, however, he consented to furnish one officer.
2Regarding the Voking-Ship, the president re ported that the officers of the "League" had inspected the "Ship" in Jackson Park and found it to be in good condition, other reports to the contrary.
Mr. Abrahamsen manager of the "Employment Office" presented a report for the month of March and April.
During the month of March 250 applications were received, 125 male and 75 female. 50 men and 51 women in Chicago and 34 men and 5 women outside the city secured employment.
Disbursements were $164.13, Receipts $130.78, leaving a deficit of $33.35. During the month of April 185 applications were received, 130 male and 55 female 47 men and 29 women in Chicago and 22 men outside the city.
Disbursments amounted to $160.92, Receipts $125.25, leaving a deficit of $35.67 3The "Visiting Committee" reported they had donated $19.00 to the needy and had placed an elderly women in Tabitha Hospital and later removed her to the "Old Peoples Home."
Several applications for membership were received from newly organized lodges.
The president announced that a noted Judge had been secured to lecture on American citizenship at the first meeting in June.
