The Greek community welcomes the new newspaper, The Independent, published by the well-known Spiros Kotakis. It is a four-page weekly containing much fine literature and many essays, with a number of articles by the editor himself. The writings of Mr. Kotakis are very worth while and should be read by the entire Greek community.

Mr. Kotakis has always shown a strong inclination to help raise the intellectual level of our people. His views on all topics are those of an intelligent, educated man, a true scholar who writes the truth without fear.

We hail Mr. Kotakis with brotherly affection, and pledge our aid in his new venture.
