[John Gelert Finishes Another Statue]

The Danish sculptor, John Gelert, who lived in Chicago for many years, is now in New York, where he recently finished "Vikingmoderen" (The Viking Mother) which will represent Denmark among the eleven statues that are to adorn the New York Custom House on Broadway.
Mr. Gelert is also at work on two statues for the St. Louis Exposition to be held next year. One Statue is of Napoleon I, and the other a female figure which is to represent the Gothic period in art. It is to be one of the six figures representing the six epochs in the history of art.
Mr. Gelert is the artist that made the Haymarket monument, the Hans Christian Andersen monument in Lincoln Park, and the group called "Struggle for Work".
