Western State Bank was founded 1873 by Andrew Petersen and George P. Bay. The bank was incorporated in 1895. George Bay has been the president of the bank since the death of Consul Petersen. At a recent meeting Charles L. Johnson was made president; Charles B. Pike, vice-president; George P. Bay, second vice-president; Lawrence Nelson, treasurer.
