Therefore, we are inviting all Lithuanians (men, women and children); you will 2be astounded at such a marvelous spectacle.

The Lithuanian Alliance of America decided to establish a Lithuanian colony for old people. To find a suitable place, the following committee was elected; F. Golubickas, P. V. Birstonas, P. Lazauskas, J. Tareila, and A. Melninkaitis. They should find a suitable place, and describe it. The members of the Lithuanian Alliance of America will then vote for approval or rejection.
A protest resolution was brought against the Chicago Lithuanian clergy for their warning and threatening the excommunication of their parishioners for taking part in the parade and for attending the convention's sessions.
The convention set aside fifty dollars for the best written Lithuanian poem and composition. It donated fifty dollars for a monument to the deceased J. Paukstis, who was the first initiator to organize the Lithuanian Alliance of America. It 2pays five dollars per month to the writer, Vistalis.
The national cents (the national cents are paid, one cent a year by every member to the national affairs fund) were distributed as follows: $210 for the writer, Vistalis; $100 to the students fund; $100 to the Lithuanian old people's home and colony, which are to be bought; and the balance of $344.42 to the revolutionary movement in Lithuania. The clever impersonator Campanella and his fellow artists are the drawing card every evening. The public applauds particularly when (and it happens often) priests, bosses, and exploiters are attacked on the stage.

p. 1--Moving pictures of the gymnastic exercises, which were used by Mr. Newman to illustrate his Balkan lectures at Orchestra Hall on Michigan avenue, will be shown again tonight, because they were so enthusiastically received by the public.
They are the most attractive photographic pictures of their kind, showing seven hundred gymnasts performing various exercises in perfect unison and grace.
Another interesting moving picture, presenting the Bosnian National Dances, will be added to the program.

The showing of moving pictures at the parish hall of St. Adalbert's, 16th and South Paulina Streets, has met with great success. The committee has obtained excellent pictures, and the hall is packed at almost every performance. The pictures are shown every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoon and evenings, and the proceeds go to help the poor of this parish. This is a very good cause and the Poles of St. Adalbert's parish and vicinity should support these performances. A special committee, which investigates every needy family, is in charge of the proceeds.

Many of us have read and heard about the Slet (Sokol Mass Convention) in Prague and have pictured the magnificent scenes which our more fortunate people could see in reality. But probably none of us would really believe what we heard until we saw the motion pictures of the Slet shown in the Thalia Theater.....
